update time stamp updated during import

Former Member

I am on MDM 7.1

I have a table with a field type = time stamp, including a couple fields in it.

I am importing daily a text file using the import server

The import is updating this time stamp field even though none of the fields are being updated, even if I take the same file and process it several times import process updates this field each time.

I have confirmed in the change log no other fields are changing, except this one being changed by the import process.

I have ensured that the mds.ini file includes "remove unchanged field modifications = True" and it no longer updates this time stamp when a Change afield not in the time stamp config (it did always update before the ini file change.

Any idea why import server is updating this field (it is not mapped in the map)

Any idea on how to stop it from updating it?

Hello!

Actually, this "remove unchanged field modifications " is a 5.5 parameter.

In 7.1, you have to use the "skip unchanged records" parameter.

You can find more information about this parameter in the MDM Console Reference Guide:

Thanks that solved it.

FYI the old parameter still takes effect for changes via portal and Data Manager but not for import...just in case you wanted to track it during imports and not updates.
