Hello,

we are working on an upgrade from 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.1

The general steps are

a) Installing the Oracle 11g Server Software

b) Installing Required Generic Patches

c) Installing the Current Patch Set

d) Installing the Current Patch Collection

e) Updating the Oracle 10.2.0 Client Software

f) Copying and Adapting the SQL*Net Files

g) Performing the Database Upgrade

We have one question top point d) Installing the Current Patch Collection

--->

in the readme.html there is a section : 3.3.6.1 Loading Modified .sql Files into the Database ---> do we need do to this at this time??

I ask this, because in this section of the readme, we also should start the OracleService<SID> and Oracle Listener Services and the database...

before the next steps e) f) g) etc. in the upgrade guide.

Can you help us.

Danke

Toni

Nope. 11.2.0.2 (current patchset) is a full instalation, you do not install 11.2.0.1 and then 11.2.0.2, you install 11.2.0.2 directly

you do those steps after the upgrade itself (I thin the upgrade will take care of that, but just in case you can repeat them)

OK,

so i understand you, i do not need to do this point "3.3.6.1 Loading Modified .sql Files into the Database " in the step "Installing the Current Patch Collection" when i want to upgrade to 11.2.0.1

Is this right?

Hello,

I also ask SAP for this. They also told me. We don't have to do the post patching steps during the 11.2.0.2 installation. You have to do this after the 11.2.0.2 upgrade ist finish.

As per the DB upgrade guide if you oracle is 10.2.0.4 then you can directly upgrade to 11.2.0.1.
