Dc deletion from track

Hi Experts,

I am deleting DC's from track which are not required. I see few DC's are not present on server but are visible on track.I am unable to create those Dc's from track,getting an error saying sync exception because dc not present on server. I am worried about those used DC's the that DC to be delted. Because used DC's are required DC's for us.

If i go ahead and delete those DC's .dcref files from top DC's would it be issue ?

NOTE: used DC's are running our production portal. Have to be extra careful.
