Java User Id and Password accepted but login screen returned

Former Member

After applying support package stack 23 to my NetWeaver /BW 700 system we are unable to login to the portal, User Management Screen or the NetWeaver Administrator screens. No problems on the abap side.

After putting my Login Id and Password in and hitting the Log On button the password field is blanked and the logon screen remains. As a test I put the wrong password in and got the expected error message.

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Bill

Problem turned out to be related to the certificates we use to connect BI portal to ECC6. We inadvertently deleted the J2ee portion of certificate that allows the two stacks to communicate.

Hello Bill,

It might also be worth reviewing note #791649 . The symptoms you describe sound very similar:

Symptom

Administrator user tries to perform a form based login to Portal's or

other application's login page with correct password. This attempt does

not fails, but the result is the same login page. In the defaultTrace on

the server node the relevan error is: ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check

for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore :

view-actions : IS_VIEW_EXISTS : ALL ]

John

This problem comes due to UME configuration problem in your portal.

Check your UME datasource in visual admin. It may have been overwritten by SPS

Check what Imtiaz has suggested first . If that doesnt work then check the defaul trace? also I have seen that sometimes restarting the java also resolves the issue as we had memory issues on our server and used to go into a hang state all the time.
