Hi All,
We have non-unicode ECC on oracle DB(WE8DEC). We want to install unicode BW on the same server. is it possible to do that.
Regards
ABH
Technically possible ,not sure whether its a recommended approach by SAP.
However you would beed to maintain a separate DB for the unicode BW and also its a good idea to separate the oracle inventory so that you dont step onto the other DB.
you will need a separate filesystel layout for the BW system , you can put your oracleinventory under /oracle/SID/orainventory rather than /oracle/orainventory .
DIR_TRANS and DIR_EPS_ROOT can also be set to /usr/sap/SID/trans and /usr/sap/SID/trans/EPS/in that separtes the transport directories... those are some of the things i can think of..
alll the best
Gerard

Yes.
You will install a second Oracle database software installation (a second ORACLE_HOME) and configure that appropriately.
Be aware that connecting a Unicode BW to a non-Unicode ERP is not straightforward and implies some additional precautions. Check section 4 of
Note 1319517 - Unicode Collection Note
