New space templates

Hi colleagues,

Does anyone have more background knowledge about the initiative for applying new templates to our Wiki spaces?

I'd be interested to take part in it so I would appreciate any information.

Is the idea to have a consistent look and feel of all spaces? Are they mandatory or are they customizable? Are they supposed to improve the usability and searchability of our content?

Hi Vanya,

Thank you for posting your question.

The templates are not mandatory, how ever I do think that if we will create one graphic voice across the wiki, it will dramatically improve the UI. I was happy to see some moderators allready starting to implement it:) (that's what there for)

Is there any information on how to migrate existing data to the new templates or do you have to recreate the entire page using the template?

Also I'm not seeing any template available???

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply( I need to fix to watch on this forum:)). There is no way to automatically shift content from an existing page to a template. How ever you can find some cool wiki templates at : http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/NQMoCw you can also just browse the wiki and see if you find some spaces you like and implement them.

My understanding is that the templates will improve usability but are not compulsory. In my opinion it would be unwise to force all Wiki space Moderators to adopt the same templates.
