Gurus,
I have created a sampling procedure with sampling type: Fixed Sample and Valuation Mode: Manual Valuation.
Now my material's UOM is MT. In the material specification I have maintained the sample size as 100 g. However whenever a lot gets generated the sample size is rounded off to 1 MT. I have tried the same manually (QA01), initially the sample size shows 0.100 MT, however when I press ENTER or save the lot, system throws a message: "The sample size will be rounded off" and it gets converted to 1 MT. How can I stop the system from rounding off the sample size?
Snigdho.

Good catch Marwadi! Yeah.. I forgot about that thread. The difference in UOM size may not let the conversion work as I suggested. I should have remembered that thread.
Is there any chance you can make the base UOM smaller? Such as maybe KG's? Then you define two alternate UOM's. One to convert to MT and the other to grams? Then you can still order and receive in MT's, but you should be able to specify grams in the inspection plan. In the background, SAP will make all calculations in KG's.
One other question. Why are you even worried about calculating the sample size? This is obviously a bulk material you are getting and if you are receiving it in MT's you could pull a kilo from the delivery and it wouldn't affect the inventory. (I'm assuming your normal delivery is not 1 MT but something like 10-20 MT's).
Why even bother calculating a sample size? Just let it default to 1.

I think minimum sample amount is 1%. If calculated amount is less than this SAP will display 0.
As suggested by firefighter, if sample cost is not significant, let system calculate 0 as sample size, You can still process the inspection lot.
You can also explore possibility of using physical sample where samples can be calculated based on number of containers, pallet, rolls etc.
Enter in an alternative UOM in the material master for grams. You will have to include the conversion factors.
In the inspection plan change the UOM to grams in the header of the plan.
