Dear Community,
Please find herewith the problem we were facing in determining of the picking Location automatically in delivery
We are determining Storage location through MALA determination rule.
We have a Material : 1564 which is stored in Storage location : ZSL1 of our Plant : ZPL1
ZSL1 had 500 units of Material : 1564 & the space of the storage location is full now.
We have recd. 300 units of the same material & have stored the same in another Storage Location : ZSL2 of the same Plant.
There is only one shipping point : ZSP1 assigned to the Plant : ZPL1
The storage condition for the material : 1564 is 01.
Now for the configuring of Determination of Storage Location by the system while doing delivery of the Goods, we go through the following Menu Path:
Customizing screen-Logistics Execution- Shipping-Picking-Determine Picking location-Assign picking Location.
ShPt Plnt SC SLoc
ZSP1 ZPL1 01 ZSL1
ZSP1 ZPL1 01 ZSL2
The first key is saved by the system but when we enter the next key mentioned in the 3rd row above-
System gives the error message- An entry already exists with the same key.
How to configure the above scenario in the system. The bottom line of the problem is - How two storage location be assigned in the assigning table if they share the common Key as above.
With regards,
Ram Rastogi
System is not determining another Storage location by itself after the assigned storage location gets exhausted.
Entering manually is not the way out. Even the system is not copying the delivery quantity if the concerned Storage location has exhausted or it is not assigned in the assigning table.
If any how we can add more controls in the assigning table by adding more columns such as .........??
The problem not only limits to
one material stored at two storage location but also extends to
if two different materials are stored at two different places but have same Shipping Point , Delivering plant & storage condition.
In any of the case we are unable to trace the location of the available material automatically.
Need an expert advice on the same.

Ram,
As the key combination (Shipping point/Plant/SC) is the same, you will not be able, to put in more than one storage location in the config that you have mentioned. Now, when the materials are not available in storage location ZPL1, then, ZPL2 will be automatically determined by SAP. This should work with MALA. However, for your testing, what you can first do is, just do the config that you are proposing for the first storage location (ZPL1). Empty out ZPL1. Now create a delivery. Just check which storage loc is picked up. It should normally pick up ZPL2. If it is blank, then you may have to use a user exit to correct it. But for now, you can try this.
Hope this helps.
