MaxDB for Linux on zSeries

I notice in the MaxDB 7.8 download area on the service marketplace that Linux on zSeries is one of the available download options.

Does this mean that SAP products like ERP can now be installed on Linux on zSeries application servers with the database (being MaxDB of course) also on Linux on zSeries

or

Is this offered to allow liveCache to run on Linux for zSeries but the only database option for Linux on zSeries application servers for SAP products like ERP will continue to be DB2 z/OS

The package you see there is ART - Application Runtime. This is means (in my understanding) that you have the client tools available - so you can connect a zLinux application server to a MaxDB database. The database engine itself is not ported.

Thanks Markus! So nothing has changed then and customers using application servers on Linux for zSeries continue to have DB2 z/OS as the only available/supported database. They also still cannot run the MaxDB server on Linux for zSeries for liveCache.
