Hello GRC Experts,
I know that GRC CUP can provision BW accounts. But can it also create Business Objects accounts? And if not, will that be coming in v 10?
Thanks,
Yvonne Davis
Hi Yvonne,
CUP can provision into BW as it can provision ABAP roles.
BusinessObjects has a wide selection of products, so I am not really sure what product you are talking about.
But one thing is sure: CUP only provisions ABAP roles and UME/Portal roles/groups.
So if your BOBJ product uses a different platform than SAP Application Server ABAP or JAVA it won't work.

Frank

Hello Frank and Yvonne,
May I add to Yvonne's question, because I just had a discussion today with our BW service manager about connecting one BW system to CUP.
It turns out that the ABAP roles needed for BW access also requires a hierarchy node to be generated, i.e. the role doesn't exist in the system until the user has asked for it.
This leads me to believe that CUP (version 5.3) doesn't have any such solution, is that correct?
I mean all that would be required is that CUP allows the user to make free text input, then this specific request doesn't go to auto provisioning instead an authorization specialist would take the request and solve it manually.
