I am sending a file to our bank.
Its a plain file but the digital certificate X.509 has to be used.
There is no encryption involved.
In PI 😆 File Adapter 😆 FTP, I see at the bottom, the chek box for X.509.
Can any one help me how it works and what steps are involved in setting this up?
The file is generated in ABAP and PI is just used for picking and placing.
Any development required in ABAP?
Would appretiate your help.

Do you have the certificate loaded into your keystore? Have you chosen the right keystores in the communication channel configuration?
Here is SAP help on the file adapter as it relates to FTP security.

Thanks David,
The Certificate is not yet loaded.
We are planning for:
Key Stroke - Service_SSL
X.509 Certificate and Private Key - ssl-credentials
Once configured and the certificate is loaded, will that be sufficient?
I have seen the link you sent. It tells about what and why but not how to get it...

Hi Pranu,
I think you need to get the certificates from a certificate issuing Certification Authority (CA).
