how many developpers on a jdi ?

Hi all,

Does anyone knows the maximum concurrent users that can develop on a single jdi infrastructure keeping correct performance ?

We are currently 2 developpers working on the same project and the perfs are very poor ! (the was is an opteron 250 with 4Gb ram).

Thanks,

Sylvain

It's not the amount of developers that determines the performance of the JDI. It's more the amount of builds that the CBS has to perform.

Some questions that arise:

- In what ways/scenarios are you experiencing bad performance?

- What kind of hardware do your developers use?

- Do you have any other software running on the server?

- Did you use the Template Configuration Wizard to tune your WebAS?

Hi Pascal,

The developers use centrino processors with 1Gb ram.

The server is hosting Was/Sld/Jdi.

I do not know if the template was used.

Only importing a simple component from another project to our project takes a lot of time (more than 15 minutes).

Sylvain

What do you mean with "importing a simple component from another project to our project". How do you do this? I wonder if the scenario you mention is JDI related at all...

I mean I have an already existing local DC with components and the aim is to export these components to a DC located on the JDI.

It is more or less copy/paste but it is extremely slow.

I already did that between two local DCs and there is no performance problem.

Can you detail the steps that are slow in this scenario?

I think you should have a good look at your database and WebAS tuning, since the process you mention takes only a few minutes in my current project: There's hardly any difference to be seen compared to a local DC copy.

Basicly all building and syncing steps are slow.

All file transfer to DTR are also slow (network issue may be).

You're right, I think I should have a look at was tuning.

thanks
