guys,

i am trying to use benchmark results for the first time and a little confused. What would a SUN E4900 with 48 GB of RAM and 8 dual core CPUs @1.2 Ghz when converted into SAPs ?? i mean how many SAPS would equal to such a server ? please advise. I am using the 2 tier SD results below. thanks

Ask Sun, they did those benchmarks and they for sure have a list of machine configurations with the corresponding number of SAPS.

SAPS is a very synthetical number, it's the result of a benchmark and can't be "calculated" because too many influencing factors are present.

If you buy a new machine the usual procedure is:

- create a project on http://service.sap.com/quicksizer

- enter the data

- contact Sun (or the Sun Competence Center @ SAP using BC-OP-SUN)

- give them the project number and name

- they will offer your a few machine configurations
