Hi All,

I'm facing a problem with installation of NW04s SP7 SR1 installation of Java WAS.

Here are the steps I've followed.

1. I've download all the 5 zip files from SDN.

2. Extracted all the files in to the same folder. While unzipping them, it had asked for overriding(I guess some files are redundant), then I clikced yes.

3. I've downloaded j2sdk1.4.2_09 and installed it.

4. I've downloaded JCE 1.4.2 from sun site.

4. Then I started installing by clicking on the setup.bat.

At the selection of JCE file and proceeding it next step it is giving me the following error.

ERROR 2006-07-31 11:50:25

MOS-01185 The subkey 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NSCService' does not exist on the 'localhost' host.

I went thru several thread in the forums and tried with the following options.

1. I'm the Administrator of the machine.

2. I tried disabling Anti virus and firewall.

3. I tried removing the following entry from the services file in C:\windows\system32...\etc folder

sapdp01 3201/tcp

Nothing workeed.

I'm connected to wireless network.

Do I have to do something for a static IP???

If so what should I do.

Or is something I'm missing.

Kindly let me know asap, its a bit URGENT.

And I promise to award in full for the Working answer.

Thanks and regards

Aarthi

Hi Aarthi,

Seems like NSCService is a Norton Internet Security service. To resolve the error you need to uncheck the check-box named "Turn on protection for my Symantec product"

See this topic.

Hope this help!
