Planning calenders

Hi All,

What will happen if I run heruristics and then Deployment for Target and Source Locations deleting all the Calenders in calender Tab for both the locations.

Hi Sanjay,

If you do not mention the planning calendar in the Location calendar tab & run heuristic & then Deployment, I hope there would be no error. For the manufacturing locations, it will consider the resource calendar for planning purpose & for deployment, it would consider all days for deployment.

It is better to maintion the calendar & restrict the calendar as per the business requirement.

Thanx for the reply.

Things are clear now,But again I have some questions like

1.Where do you maintain Resource calender if it is handling resource.

2.So there is no requirement of any planning calender for heuristics run

3.In deployment too there is no requirement of any planning calender but for business requirement we can use and influence the deployment.

Hi Sanjay,

Welcome.

1. You can create Handling resource directly in APO system. In the general tab you will find the factory calendar.

2. Planning calendar is already assigned to the resources, hence you not need to explicitely mention in the location. It is recommended to maintain the calendar in Location.

3. Yes.
