Hi Guys,

I need to get hold of an older versions of RDBMS,

I'm installing the below MAXDB sapinst from master install

CD 51038621_13

It then asks for above RDBMS - So I point it at the only one I can find for windows maxdb

RDBMS_MaxDB_7.8.01_Build_14

This then tells me the version is to new and needs a different version.

I have checked SDN and Sap Download to no avail.

Could one of you kind gurus help me

Rdgs

Hi Markus

When I go to this option, I only get SQL Server

SAP NETWEAVER AND COMPLEMENTARY PRODUCTS

SAP NetWeaver and complementary products" SAP NETWEAVER" SAP NETWEAVER 7.0

SAP NETWEAVER 7.0

Installation and Upgrade

Windows Server

Microsoft SQL-Server

There is no option for MaxDB

There is a download for MAXDB under the SQL option

50102369_3 NW 7.0 Presentation - MaxDB Release 7.6.03 but this does not have the RDBMS..

Do you have the cd no....I even tried looking - searching for it, but can only find linux version

Thanks in advance

In that case you have a license/contract issue with your current installation.

You see only the software you're licensed to use, if all your systems are running and licensed (to SAP) under SQL Server you won't see a "MaxDB" entry.

I suggest you open a call at XX-SER-SWFL-ESD and ask to change the permissions so you see the software.

MaxDB is closed source for quite some time now. And even then someone need to develop the interfaces for SAP (lib_dbsl) and the SAP integration (DB50 etc.) - so you also pay a license and some maintenance fee though those are significantly lower than with any other database
