Hi,
We have set automatic log backup ON for our livecache. Recently, it got turned off automatically.
We found that our filesystem to which the archive files were getting generated during log backups had got full.
My question is, if the filesystem where log backups are archived gets full does the setting of automatic log backup gets turned
OFF automatically? Please suggest,
Rg,
Sandeep.
Hello Sandeep,
Please review the SAP notes:
869267 FAQ: SAP MaxDB LOG area
1377148 FAQ: SAP MaxDB backup/recovery
846890 FAQ: SAP MaxDB Administration
You could find the answer on the question "What happens if the file system becomes full with AUTOSAVE LOG?" in SAP note 1377148 => 6., and more helpful information.
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Yes, that is expected behaviour. If the database can't back up logs to a directory it gets turned off. You'll have to release space and turn it on manually.
