Dear Gurus,
I need to record result whose value is alphanumeric and may have hundreds of values such as:
Y+5R
Y+5.5R
Y+6.6R
and so on. I feel that maintaining these values as codes won't be a good idea since the number of values may keep on increasing. Again this scenario cannot be mapped through quantitative MICs. Is there any way I can simply put the values as qualitative characteristics without using code groups?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Please let me know how will you have the valuation of MIC in this case.
If you do not want to have valuation of the MIC as accepted or rejected, you can store the values in the field "Inspection Description" available during results recording.
thanks

just try this
1. in inspection plan maintain as quantitative char- single resultr, record measured value- while recording result enter ur result(alpha numeric ) in measured value it will shift to original value
2. or maintain as quanlitative char- single result- while recording result enter result in insp. description and valuate manually.
