Hi,

I've system with Windows 7 & JEE SDK 6 (inbuilt java webstart).

I'm trying to launch SAP PI 7.1 ESR & ID but to no avail.

I tried uninstalling 6.0 and install JDK 5.0 (inbuilt webstart).

Then tried by uninstalling 5.0 and installing 1.4.2_12.

But all i get is repository.jnlp and directory.jnlp saved in Temp folder.

tried double clicking them, cleared cache as suggested in few threads but to no avail.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

regards

GK

Hi Gopi,

Try to set the proxy exclusion adding the ESR hostname, followed by ".*"

Hi,

Besides that, you may check if you have the PCK component installed.

If so, undeploy this component.

Also, you may have the possibility of re-deploying the XI Tools using the JSPM

and then try using the latest patch level available to address the issue.

Let us know the results.

Hi Gopi,

From Control Panel, go to Java -> General tab, Temporary Internet Files

-> View... -> Delete all the content there.

Then go to:

> Integration buider page http://<host>:<port>/rep

> Administration

> Tab - Directory (Repository as well)

> Java Web Start Administration

> Re-initialization and force-signing

Also, ensure you have ONLY the 1.4.2 Java Version installed and ACTIVE used for both

Client and Server as you're on XI 7.0.

This is very important.

thx for the replies...

Spantaleoni...could u elabarote a lil bit as to where to exclude the proxies...thx!!

Sugata..The webstart window is not even opening..so re-initializing wouldn't help as the jar files havent been downloaded even for the first time in my system.

All I see on clicking ESR or ID is " JAVA Loading "...in task manager i see webstart launcer...but it aint launching to load the jar files.

In your Browser setting (this is a example in Windows IE), go to MENU->TOOLS->INTERNET OPTIONS->CONNECTION->LAN SETTINGS->IGNORE PROXY SETTING FOR LOCAL ADDRESS-> Set your hostname

In order, i'll try:

- Unistall Java and Reinstall Java 1.42.18

- Check your "host" file in Windows subdir

- Check exclusion in Proxy setting

- Clear Java cache in Java control panel

- Set "program execution" for java in Internet Option in browser settings

Hi spantaleoni...tried it in this order...

It says JAVA Loading...(doesnt't load any applet)...but javaws.exe are running in task manager without any cpu utilization.

Hi Gopi,

In the XI JAVA Stack URL (XI home page) please click to the Administration link. afte rclicking, in the left side you will see

Javau2122 Web Start option - click Javau2122 Web Start Administration and there you click the Re-initialization and force-signing button , it will provide the dummy certificates and you JAVA stack wil open.

If you are using mozilla borwser you can have an option to select your java - JDK ( if you have multiple JDK Installed).

for PI 7.0 better to use JDK 1.4.
