My company have one DB Server and two AP servers (one on Windows, one on Linux) for SAP ECC 6.0 production environment. This morning users reported that SAP GUI will show error message "Roll-out failed; session terminated" when they try to login Linux AP server.
Now DB server and Windows AP server are still working fine. I used SM51 to check the status and the information of process, users can not be accessed. I know that company Intranet had short maintenance yesterday but all servers in server room should not be affected. How should I deal with this situation? Restart AP Server?
Thanks for any advise.
Hello,
Yes good to restart SAP.
This kind of problem is due to the over flow in Roll and Page memory
This can be corrected by increasing the SAP profile parameter values
rdisp/ROLL_MAXFS and rdisp/PG_MAXFS.
Please see this note:
133909 Maximum value for PG_MAXFS, PG_SHM, ROLL_MAXFS, ROLL_SHM

John Feely

Check the work process traces (ST11) for details and when convenient restart the server. Review the roll memory settings to see if you have enough ([Profile Parameters of Memory Management|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/49/3431b15cce5717e10000000a42189b/frameset.htm])
Hope that is helpful.
