Hi,
In Sevice Interface, the Releasing state option will contain Stateless, Stateful, TU&C/C and stateless(XI 3.0 compatible) in PI 7.1.
Basically, we are selecting basing on the requirement among those. Default is Stateless.
Stateless:- No state is retained on the provider system between a service's operations calls.
Stateful:- The session state can be retained in memory on the service provider side across multiple service operation calls.
TU & C/C (Tentative Update & Confirm/Compensate):- For synchronous communication between applications where changes in the persistent state are required on the provider side.
Stateless (XI30compatible):u2013 Only one operation.

Rajesh

Hi ,
Released state in Service Interface PI 7.1 is : required whne you actually publish the Interface (after activating ) , to be used in SOAMANAGER / or may be in CE platform -> Netweaver Studio developer comsuing the services,
Basically , if you just created the Service Interfcae in Desgin and not having idea of consuming the service , you can set the state(Operational Pattern) : Stateless --XI3.0 Compactible
Check this article which will give more Info on Service INterfcae of PI 7.1 (EHPI):
