Hi,

Could any one let me know how to translate the local data types from English to French in Web Dynpro Java application?

I am able to translate the view elements and message pool text to French. I didn't know how to translate the enumaration values of local data types.

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated and will be rewarded.

Regards

Srini

Hi,

You need to copy and paste the .xlf file for the enumeration with _fr.xlf.

After that reload the project, modify the _fr.xlf file for the French text and deploy the project to view the French enumeration

i think the procedure is the same as how you translate the view.

you can find the xlf file in the package of your local data type.

Hi John,

I couldn't find the xlf file for French version. I found one for English. I am wondering why the French version xlf file si not being generated by the system.

In the data type definition, the check box for Translate is checked. Even though, the French version XLF file is not generated by the system.

Any ideas?

HI Srini,

You can copy the default xlf file (e.g for english as defined in your locale) and while pasting add the language code in the file name (i.e. wdmessagepool_fr.xlf).

Now reload your project, build and deploy. Changes will reflect as per your browser language or user language.
