Does SAP support Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit?

Dear Experts,

I've installed SAP ECC6, and the following message appears when I tried to login.

"OS release Windows NT 6.1 76000 4x AMD64 level 6 (Mod 23 step 6) is not supported with this kernel 700"

I found out that it's SAP Kernel doesn't support Windows Server 2008 R2 according to SAP note :1383873. However that note was dated 13.10.2010.

Since it's already 3months now, will there be any patch file for SAP Kernel update, available for download?

Regards,

Abraham

Thanks guys,

I've solved the problem. I downloaded and patched with SAPEXE_278-20001354.SAR (Kernel part 1) and SAPEXEDB_278-20001361.SAR (kernel part 2).

Abraham

There is already for a long time, don't check the

If you check the current kernel patches they all have "Windows 6.1" in their valid list so updating to a recent kernel fixes that problem.

Hello Abraham,

The up to date kernels support Windows 2008R2

SAP supports the following 64-bit (x64, IA64) Windows Server 2008 R2 editions:

Standard edition, Enterprise edition, Datacenter edition, and for Itanium-Based Systems edition

Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core is not supported by SAP.
