partner tab change

Hello Gurus,

is it correct to say that in a sales order :

1. there is a ship-to and sold-to party at the header. If the respective partners assigned to the partner profiles are changed in the partner tab, the header info for ship-to and sold-to are changed also. For example, in the header, sold-to is A and ship-to is B. In partner tab, sold-to Partner Function sold-to if changed to AA, then the sales order header sold-to will also change to AA and likewise for the ship-to.

2. If there are 2 items in the sales order, having different ship-to parties, To change the partner assigned to the Partner profile in the partner tab will only change the partner defined for one of the items having same partner function at item level.

Hi Mirella,

In a sales order, in the partner function tab, you CANNOT CHANGE the sold to party. However you can change other partner functions. In this case, the changed partner becomes applicable for all the items in the document. So a change in Ship to party at the header partner tab will result in change of partner in the document at the field ship to party after the field Sold to party.

If you want different ship to parties for different items, you have to do the change at the item level. In this change, the header partners remain the same without any change. Only for the specific item, the change will be effected.

1. & 2. if it is in change mode you can change it.

but it will not be in change mode.
