Error while deactivation of RE contract

Hi All,

Was trying to deactive a RE contract and system is throwing an error "Deactivation is not possible due to existing postings".

Thou the contract end date is completed and no more posting are there to be posted still system it not allowing me to deactivate the contract. Can any one let me know if there is any thing else am missing to check.

Hi Sri,

The error is coming because there are postings already done for the contract. As far as I know the contract cant be deactivated if there is any posting for the contract (as is ur case). We can close the contract, to short close the contract we need to put the end date as todays date if we need to close the contract today.

In ur case the contract is already closed as the end date is reached and u dont need to deactivate the contract. May i know the reason to deactivate it once it is already closed??

If u still need to deactivate it then reverse the postings for the contract and deactivate it. But that is not advisable.
