Hello Kapil,

Te terms partners and business partners in the SAP SD application refer to the parties that are involved in a sales transaction. Each business partner has a specifed role and can be identifed based on the role or function they play in the processing

of a sales cycle. Examples of business partners include a sold-to party ordering the goods, a forwarding agent delivering the goods, an employee responsible for processing the sales transaction, a customer contact person seeking regular updates about

the delivery progress, a ship-to party location where the goods are to be shipped, a bill-to party who will receive the invoices, and a payer who will pay the bills. You set up these partners and their corresponding functions in SAP SD using a search

technique called partner determination. Te technique controls what partners are allowed, what roles they will play, and how they can be determined at the required stages (such as during sales document processing, delivery processing, transportation processing, and so on) in the processing of a sales cycle.

Te customization of a partner determination procedure is a three-step process

1 . Defne partner functions.

2. Group partner functions into a partner determination procedure.

3. Assign the partner determination procedure to respective partner objects.

Hello Kapil,

You can setup Partner Determination via IMG>SD>Basic Functions>Partner Determination>Set-up Partner Determination. Here you can find the 8 options.

For example: Set-up Partner Determination for Customer Master.

>you define your partner functions (of which partner type e.g. customer, plus other properties)

>you define a partner determination procedure and which partner functions are in the procedure where you configure attributes such as not modifiable, mandatory, etc.

>and then you assign partner functions to account group(s)

>and then finally, you map a partner determination procedure to your account group(s)

**you also have the option to change the "description"/label of your partner function in the interface depending on the language configured (e.g. in the english language, you can change your label from standard AG-->custom SP..so that if you log-on using the english language you will see SP as the code of your partner function instead of AG)
