SRM MDM catalog service package upgrade to SP08 impacts

Hello MDM expert

We are in process of upgrading Service package from SP03 to SP08 in SRM MDM catalog netweaver component.

Can you please let me know what are all the impact analysis and solutions?

We are using MDM: Version 7.1 (7.1.03.69)

1 We have a scenario to enable SRM MDM catalog for SRM (7.0) shopping cart

2 SUS Custom applications, which accesses SRM MDM catalog with Java API.

We too are going to upgrade to SPS8. I've been searching SAP's Service Marketplace for the same info. So far here's what I gathered, and I am hoping someone will validate these information for us.

For SRM-MDM Catalog - The lastest for catalog is 3.0 is SP09 is patch 03.

SRM-MDM Catalog SP09 patch 03 is based on MDM 7.1 SP05.

Hi Magesh - You'll need the following files:

For MDM patch update you need to download these files below:

MDMIM71005_18-20004515.tar

MDMIMS71005_31-20004463.tar

MDMS71005_32-20004455.tar

MDMSIC71005_32-20005046.tar

Once extracted, run sapinst to do the update --> select "Additional Software Life Cycle Option --> Update". Simply follow the prompt.

Please note that once you upgraded/patched your MDM server, you'll need to upgrade your MDM console, Import Manager, and Data Manager on Windows desktop (setup files are listed below).

MDMCSL71005_23-20004526.zip -> MDM Console

MDMDM71005_21-20004529.zip -> MDM Data Manager

MDMIM71005_31-20004524.zip -> MDM Import Manager

Below is the latest MDM Catalog version 9 patch 4.

I am still trying to figure out how to get our MDM catalog to that latest patch. Any idea please let me know.

Our current MDM Catalog is 3.0.

Is there any impact on existing Data modeling , Data, schema etc. .. When upgrading the components that you have suggested? Because there are live data in PROD system.

Hi Magesh.

1. As far as the information I have the latest SRM MDM Catalog version available is SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 SP09 patch4.

The corresponding MDM Version is MDM 7.1 SP05.

When you are trying to upgrade from lower release of Catalog to the newer one, check if there is any change in the repository schema and proceed on it. Usually there will be step-by-step solutions provided on how to upgrade on these stages.

Similarly if you are upgrading your MDM versions you can find the Upgrade guide in the service market place.

2. Launching catalog from custom applications you have to adhere to the OCI standards. check the below link for more information.
