PI Client copy

Hello,

I have installed a new PI system (PI2) NW 7.1( OS: WIN SERVER 2008 R2; DB: Oracle 10g) .

I already have a old PI system (PI1) NW 7.1 EHP1(OS: Sun; DB: Oracle10g)

I want to copy all the configuration of PI1 to PI2.

I am planning to go ahead and do client copy of PI1 001 to PI2 001. But i wanted to know about below mentioned points:

1. Will this be enough to copy all the configurations of PI1 to PI2.(We have only 000,001 and 006 clients in both the systems).

2. Is client copy in PI system different in anyway from ECC client copy.

I do not want to go for heterogenous system copy.

Please guide.

Hi

1. Where is your configuration exist in OLD PI server? 001 or 000? if it is 001 you can copy only 001 client from source to target.

2. client copy is same as you do in ECC.

Thanks for the reply..

Yes all the configuration exist in 001 client of PI1.

So now i have to do a simple client copy from PI1 001 to PI2 001 to make PI2 similar to PI1.

I will update once i am done with the client copy.
