Hi,
A week back, through SOA Manager I had configured a enterprise service. Everything was looking good. The service was active and I could consume the service (through a SOAP Client)
Just yesterday, when I tried accessing the service again, I am getting a 403-Forbidden exception. I check the service in SICF (/default_host/sap/bc/srt/xip/sap/...) and its active. I am not sure what changed in the last 2 days. Any tips will be highly appreciated.

Keerti
Hi Keerti,
This error might be due to not having the proper user roles assigned to the user being used for posting. Please check if
the service user have the role SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER assigned to it : SU01 -{enter user}->check roles tab-> add the role if not present.
Also some times it can be a case that the password of the existing user is changed, so make sure you are using correct one.
check this[603624|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=0000603624&nlang=E] also-> check if all the relevant services are active(sap/bc/srt*) , some times i noticed that the root node will be in active state but some of the child note may be inactive.
refer http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/EN/46/d28dfa34bb12bee10000000a1553f7/content.htm
if you are in DEV environment you can try using the report RSICF_SERVICE_ACTIVATION .

Srinivas

Thanks Srinivas, You have directed me to the right blogs...
However I found my solution in a rather unusual place. My Network team had disabled the port to the server as a side-effect to something else that they were doing and hence the ports were disabled. A good learning - check the ports!
