confirmation requirement

Hello,

"If there is no Confirmation Requirement, the system automatically confirms the quantities when you create the

transfer order."

I like to confirm that 'confirm the quantities' means picked qty = required qty , as in fully picked?

and that means as long as picked qty not equal to the ordered qty, the TO is not or cannot be confirmed.

I am asking because a SAP Library content has it that "You process differences when you confirm a transfer order. This results in the update of the stock levels in WM. Afterwards, you need to clear the WM differences in the IM component."

From the above, seems like confirming a TO is a process and the result of this process can be fully picked or partially picked or not picked. So, does this mean to confirm a TO does not mean it is confirmed?

secondarily:

If a TO is not confirmed but partially picked , what status is the TO having?

If picking was attempted but picked qty = 0, is there a status for this?

Thanks!

regards

Hi,

You can do confirm as below.

1. Confirm the T.O with out any differences means full qty picked.

2. Confirm the T.O with differences e.g. If the T.O is for 10 pc then cofirmation done as 6 pc picked and the differnce qty is 4pc.

T.O confirmation status will be differnt in LT21 (T.O display) for fully picked and difference confirmation.

The difference qty will be posted into 999 stype as default.

Hi Kris,

Does 'Confirmation Requirement' mean:

1. Warehouse management system is activated.

2. TO is printed and must be picked and manually confirmed that quantity has been fully or partially picked.

3. When systems do not have confirmation requirement setup, the system will automatically, at the time TO is printed, confirm picked quantity = required quantity regardless if quantity has been or is fully picked or not.

Hi John,

Confirmation Requirement' means....

If confirmation reqt is checked then you need do the confirmation for T.O which is created.

If not checked, the at the time creation of T.O it will be get confirmed.

Hope this clears you..

Dear Kris,

Thanks so much.

To finalise, when confirmation requirement is configured, when a TO is created, it is immediately and automatically confirmed as Fully Confirmed or 'confirmed' as in a either full or partial quantity picked?

If TO is automatically set to fully picked and fully confirmed, then this is strange to me because, in real life, a TO may not be confirmed immediately or due to some reasons.

Hope to get clarification.

Thanks.

John

Hi,

1.If you set auto confirm then it will do the full qty as picked.

2. you can do partial qty confirm when it is not auto confirm menas T.O created and then user will do the picking, afterwards confirm the T.O

Hope this clarifies you...

Rgds,

Kris.
