Change Storage Location from Warehouse Number to another Warehouse Number

Hi Experts,

We have an storage location 0001 that belongs to Warehouse number 001, now we need to change the storage location 0001 to belongs to Warehouse number 002.

What are the steps necessary to do it? it is possible to change the assignment (0001 -> 001 to 0001->002) without transfer post the stock to another storage location?

Hi,

Before you are assigning the sloc 0001 to wh 002 need to transfer the stock in sloc to another sloc(XXX).

Once you assigned the sloc to new wh 002 then you can transfer to sloc 0001.

If you do not transfer the stock another sloc and do the assignment of sloc to wh002 it will creates data incosistency.

Hello Alejandro,

warehouse number that is used to identify a complex warehouse setup. A warehouse number groups together storage types and storage bins that are organized and maintained as a complete unit.

Within a plant you cannot assign several storage locations to the same warehouse number.

If the new warehouse number belongs to new plant then you have manage the stock for the materials in the respective storage types and storage bins.

If your warehouse number belongs to new plant, then you can use the storage location with no stock transfers. You have to maintain all the warehouse managed material with new warehouse number, storage types and storage bins.
