mxdb data is full

Hi all,

we have install solman with mxdb 7.7 on RHEL 5.3, after post installation steps. it show data is 97 % full and 100 % log.

we have "ON" auto log, Now log is 30% fill but data is still at 97%. while there is about 65 % free space on disk

Please guide.

Hi Imran,

You can add data volumes using DBMCLI or by DBMGUI.

Before adding a new data volume please check for the parameter MAXDATAVOLUMES. In your case, the value for MAXDATAVOLUMES should be more than 11.

If your volumes has reached to Maximum, please increase the parameter value and do a quick restart to activate the parameter.

If you are using MAXDB GUI... Goto 'Instance' -> 'Configuration' ->'Data Volumes'

Specify the size depending on the space availability.

we have add 2 new volum with name data0008 & data0009. my MAXDATAVOLUMES are 11.

how many MAXDATAVOLUMES should be ?

and what is it max limit & size.

As many as you have and need plus a few more to be able to extend online.

As a rough estimate you can use the square root of the database size.

MaxDB does not extend the volumes if you don't configure that.

Just add another volume using Database Studio or DBMGUI.

through dbmgui, we have check voluem, there are 11 data files, first 7files are with size 6,860800kb.
