First of all I am a Basis Administrator not a developer so please forgive me.
I have a developer who is creating Web Services (WSDLs) on individual dialog servers and we would like to load balance across our 6 Windows based dialog servers that sit in front of MSCS cluster.
Is there a way of doing this within SAP or do I need to use some kind of external device. We use F5 BigIPs but hoped to get this functionality within SAP.
Thank you in advance.
Hi Bill,
as it is HTTP traffic you will need a seperate application (or hardware) for load balancing between all available SAP dialog servers. There is a software from SAP called SAP Web Dispatcher which most customers use because it's free. But you can also use other software or hardware load balancers.
The URL in the WSDL must be exchanged with the hostname and port where the loadbalancer is listening.
Regards
Markus
