Hello Professionals,
I like to verify the following is correct:
1. Comparing Stock Transport Order (STO) and a Transfer Order (TO), the difference is that
STO moves material from a plant to plant while a TO moves within a warehouse.
2. STO is considered an Inbound process (replenishment) while TO is an Outbound-Only process.
Have a nice day.

Dear Gabin..
STO
It can happen between
two Storage locations.
Two different Plants. of same company code.
Two different plants of different company code.

Hi Professionals,
Thank you Sumanth,
but i also like to know whether my assumption is correct regarding the movement direction : inbound and outbound.
Am i also right to add that Transfer order is for all movements in the warehouse and as such can be applicable and both bound situations?
regards
Pascal
Hi Pascal,
As long as your plant is WM enabled, any movement is TO enabled. So TO should be used both for inbound and outbound proces. Without a TO, you can bring the material can be posted at plant adn storage location level, but it should again be moved into teh warehouse by means of a TO, otherwise the material cannot be used for any further process.
