Hi Experts,
I hope all are doing well. I would like know all the scenerios of SCM EWM. In our project we are having only FI & SD module. For example, in material management module flow is material master, vendor master, purchase requisition/PO, goods receipt & invoice receipt. Like the same way would like know about SCM EWM module. Kindly explain me the same.
Regards
Maria

Quality Management, Slotting/Rearrangement ( for effective utilization of warehouse space).
2. Outbound Processes - comprising of Goods Issue (Outbound Deliveries ...), Wave Management, Cross Docking,
VAS (Value Added Services), Packing, Replenishment, EH & S Services.
3. Warehousing & Storage - comprising of functionalities related to Handling Units, RF/Bar Coding/RFID, Resource
Management, Material Flow System.
4. Evaluation & Planning - Warehouse Monitor, Task & Alert Monitors, Delivery Monitor, Labor Management.
5. Physical Inventory - Periodic Inventory, Continuous Inventory and Cycle counting.

Hi Maria,
In simplistic terms EWM is a WMS (Warehouse Management System) design to support warehousing operations and material flows for the logistics processes in the scope of the SD module. That is processes that manage, control and optimise the physical hadling of goods.
Again in simple terms EWM can be considered a more advance from of the WM module which found as a core module in the ERP.
- In reality EWM also extends process support into other areas were physical product is managed by a system such as transportation and yard management, warehouse automation, Labour Management, PP and 3rd party logicstics.
The acid test for a business considering a WMS is if a material (product) is contained in more than one physical location in a warehouse) or if the physical material flows and internal warehouse processes are complicated enough to require support by an additional system or ERP module.
It sounds from your description of your project scope that the functionallity of a WMS is not required?
Thanks James
