Storage unit management

Can some one please confirm that storage unit management is required for any warehouse that stores batch managed materials. We want to implement batch management but we our warehouse is not on storage unit management. Any help be great

Hi,

It will be easy for you to manage stocks if use SU along with Batch Management. For example, if you are mixing materials with different batches in the same bin, then by activating SU , you can store homogeneous SUs (with same batch ) as one Storage Unit. That means, batch mixing within the bin, but no batch mixing within the SU. If you don't store them as SUs, then all the materials in the bin are mixed and often gets difficult while Putaway and Picking.

But what do you prefer if youhave bulk location and not bin location, Means in bin you put goods next to each other and bulk you can put on top of each other too.....

It is not necessary to activate storage Unit management if the the warehouse manages stocks in Batches
