SAP report to reconcile IDocs created vs. data sent from external system

Hello SAP community,

I was wondering if anyone has had an opportunity to build this type of reconciliation report. The idea here is that an external system makes RFC calls to SAP to generate IDoc data for sales orders. We want to build some form of report that will check how many "calls" to create IDocs were made vs. how many IDocs were actually created.

Currently we are thinking that this will be a combination of sources report.

1.The originating system will generate a "report" that details the volume of calls to SAP for the creation of order data, and send to SAP for further processing.

2. SAP will retrieve the report from the external system and compare it against the total number of documents created in EDIDC for that day.

3. The two volumes will be compared and output for users.

Hi Kevin and Ahalya,

When this data-communication process is based on IDOCS you could consider to build a solution around SAP table EDIDC (Control record IDoc) or table NAST (for the outbound messages)

Be sure to make selections before you generate the report....depending on the daily dataload in your organization it may take some time to retrieve the information.
