Ehp 2 Upgrade on Dual Stack query

Hi All,

I am about to plan an upgrade of SAP Netweaver 7 (2004s) to Ehp 2, the current setup is a dual stack on one server, the Netweaver system is used for Business Intelligence, my query is can I upgrade the system with both the ABAP and JAVA stack on the same system, or first do I need to move the JAVA stack over to another server as SAP recommend that the ABAP and JAVA stack are on seperate servers?

Hi,

You will have to run upgrade parallely on both ABAP and JAVA. They will stop automatically at specific points for syncronization. But it has to be run in parallel on the same system

I believe existing dual stack installations are supported.

Hi Jay,

SAP EHP Installer will take care of upgrading existing ABAP and JAVA stack parallely. Recently we had done SAP NW 7.0 system EHP1 upgrade successfully.

You can execute the upgrade on the dual stack system as well..
