Issue with Text/Auth Object File Load in RAR

Former Member

Hi All,

We download the SAPText and SAPObject files from our backend SAP systems and uploaded them successfully into RAR 5.3 without error. When we go into a function, the transaction code descriptions are not there. Moreover, when creating a new function the authorization objects don't come in for transactions.

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot the files from the backend? I open them and all of the data is there.

Any recommendations are appreciated!

Thanks,

Grace Rae

Hi Grace,

What is your support pack level? If you are on SP13 you might need atleast patch 2. refer to note 1168120.

Thanks,

Chinmaya

Hi Grace,

Have you converted the text files into UTF-8 format before uploading into GRC ? Sometimes this might be the problem even though files uploads successfully objects will not appear.

Thanks and Best Regards,

I think I found the problem, although I'm unsure how to fix it.

When I open the files in notepad, it looks like there are no returns and the data is all written on one line. When I open up a text file from a previous installation, it looks like there are carriage returns in the file. This would explain why only 1 record is writing to the database.

Any ideas why this would be and how to resolve the formatting issue?

Thanks so much,

Open file in MS Word and turn on Technical View...

That will show you TABs and RETRUNs, then you can insert missing ones.

I am going to open an OSS message with SAP. We will have to do this multiple times and it must be an issue with the Virsa download program.

Thanks all,

The issue has been resolved.

I downloaded the files on a computer with Windows XP as mine has Vista and there were no problems with the file format.

Thanks all,
