I have just upgraded orale from 10G to 11G and while I start oracle ( after upgrade ) I get the following error
ORA-32004: obsolete or deprecated parameter(s) specified for RDBMS instance
If I disable REMOTE_OS_AUTHENT option from the Oracle parameter file , SAP does not connect.
I found a sap note 1431793 , which says you can safely ignore the ORA - 32004 message ,
Just wondering if there in any way to remove the error message
Thanks
Hello Abu,
Just wondering if there in any way to remove the error message
Quick and short answer: No.
shell> oerr ora 32004
32004, 00000, "obsolete or deprecated parameter(s) specified for %s instance"
// *Cause: Obsolete or deprecated parameters for this instance type
// were specified in the SPFILE or the PFILE on the server side.
// *Action: See alert log for a list of parameters that are obsolete
// or deprecated. Remove them from the SPFILE or the server
// side PFILE.
So you can only "remove" this message by removing the parameter - but if you do that SAP is not working anymore .. so you have to live with it.
Regards
Stefan
