XI integration Broker

Hello Colleagues,

Please let me know the functionality of XI integration broker.

When a request is sent from the consumer to the provider which is non SAP envirnoment how the conversion of the request to the format understandble by provider happens.

Is there any other integration brocker avaliable, is XI recommended by SAP ?

Is XML the standard used for communication between provider and consumer.

Please let me know on this.

Hi Ajay,

Plenty of questions.

For general functionality of XI (or PI as it is called today) please check the Netweaver >> Process Integration forum. There are plenty links there that guide you to some starters docs.

In PI you can do mapping form one to another format. PI is recommended by SAP yes, after all they built it

Yes XML is standard, with SOAP.

You can do direct webservice from Consumer to Provider without PI, of you can also set it up with PI.
