SAP starts a few WPs and stops

I moved my 4.6C to another iSeries box on a hosted site with same OS v6r1 by restoring full system backup. Host name, system name are not changed.

IP address is changed. The new server has the same memory size and a lot more dsik space. When I start SAP on the new server It starts

with only 8 or 10 work processes out of 42 wp on the system. The status of th wp that are started is SELW.

I saw error messages in the log file dev_w2 but could not figure out what is causing it. I very much appreciate any clue how to resolve this issue from your past experience or from iterpreting the log listed below.

Did you restore the sqlpkg libraries, too? (R3sidX0000, for example). If so, the SQL packages should be deleted with DLTR3PKG. Other thoughts might be to check ownership/authority to the objects in your data library. You might also look in the joblog of the WP02 job that is mentioned for more clues. Or maybe compare system values for a mismatch.

Hi Berhanu,

Regarding the number of work processes you might want to check if the entries rdisp/wp_no_* in the instance profile are stil in sync with what you maintained in transaction RZ10. System copy might have set initial values.

I checked the number of work processes and it is in sync with the original entries in the profile.
