Need to upgrade CIM and CR Contents in SLD
How to
1) Procedure to backup existing version both CIM and CR
2) Method for Restoring taken backup previous versions in case of error

Procedure to backup existing version both CIM and CR
1. Login to SLD with SLD administration rights like J2EE_Admin user. URL : http://<host>:<port>/sld
2. Click on "Administration" link
3. Click on "Export" link
4. Select "All" from drop down, Full Export & continue
Method for Restoring taken backup previous versions in case of error
1. Login to SLD with SLD administration rights like J2EE_Admin user
2. Click on "Administration" link
3. Click on "Import" link
4. Select exported backup file * Continue

It tells about how to repair the CR data delivered by SAP. And it should answer your 2 point.

Note 669669 tells very clearly the navigation path in SMP from where you can get the files.
Based on the current version of your CIM model, you can take the files from service market place.
Procedure is exactly as mentioned in the previous thread.
Make sure you follow note 669669
