Hi,

Can someone please share the SAP best practices for the Golden client (Development). Basically, Do's and Don'ts for developers who work on the Golden client.

Thanks in advance !

Hi,

Just adding my thoughts where I have seen such landscape where no developer id was created in golden client they do configuration in separate configuration client and also i have seen such a complex landscape where in only one client (golden/configuration) is designed but with multi system landscape (D2, Q2, P2). So it's practically possible with the help of proper change management and approval process.

Thanks,

Salim

Hi,

Golden Client is the where all your configurations/developments are done. All the TRs are moed to Qty System from this client itself.

Thanks Nirmal.

But what i'm interested in is - what are the practices that should be followed by the developers working on a Golden client?

For Ex :

- They should not create any Master data on it.

- Should not test configuration and Workbench activities.

- Should not perform any Cycle Zero activities like number range etc.

Please share any such Do's and Don'ts which you know of.

Thanks,

Prateek

Generally in ur Development ystem u will have 3 clients :

1. Golden Master.

TP are moved here from Sandbox client.

Master Data is copied as per the requirement.

Number Range related activities can be made on sandbox client.

2. Testing Client.

Testing is done here

3. Sandbox client.
