Configure GRMG alert to just send one email/auto-reaction

I know this has been around for quite a while but I just found a use for it for me. I have it setup to email out to a distribution list once the URL is unable to be pinged, the problem is that it will send out the alert email every 5 minutes with the job that runs.

Is there a way to limit the alert to just one email?

It's a GRMG lite setup for a non SAP website. It is using the GRMG_TRIGGER method that calls GRMG_START_SCENARIOS for data collection and a custom auto-reaction that calls SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT_V2.

The one thing I found that sounded nice was the method definition of GRMG_URL_LOOKUP_AUTOREACTION from [Collaboration Workspace from SAP|https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-27417] but my SolMan system does not contain this method.

Any thoughts? Thank you,

Ryan

I don't think you can get it down to just one email, but you can easily get it down to two: one "red" alert, and then one "green" alert when the URL comes back online (activating the all-clear or green alerts also deactivates the repetition in the red alert). That's even better than just one email in my opinion and so I've made extensive use of it. See [Note 746193|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/746193] - RZ20: Generating all-clears ("green alerts").

Please be aware (as the Note says) that green alerts only can be activated for "performance" and "status" node types: e.g., Availability is a "performance" node. Note: the GRMG node called "status" is actually a "log" type of node, and so it cannot have green alerts (according the Notes, green alerts for log nodes are planned for a future release). When you're looking at a monitor set in RZ20, check out the legend (SHIFT+F1) of the icons for node types and this may make more sense.
