Hi Gurus

I've installed SAPGUI for Java 7.20 in Ubuntu 10.10, I also have a printer Cups/pdf installed but I can't print documents via lpd. Is there something else to configure?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You can use access method G:Frontend Printing with control technologie but you need to make sure that your SAP server support this type through SPAD tcode.

You can also use access method S or U. For further information please check my blog posting here (http://sapbasis.wordpress.com/2007/08/23/print-sap-documents-using-linux/).

Thanks Ardhian, cause the printer host has windows o.s. I didn't need configure xinet.conf, I just created an output device in SPAD t-code following the recommendations you did, in printer host= printer's shared name

Hi Salim, I followed your recomendations, but SAP doesn't print in the same way it does in Windows environment (printing directly to my default OS printer usin lpd software...)

Hi,

Hope you have also added printer at os level however i'm not sure about ubuntu but give a try with lpadmin -p <printer name> -E -v lpd://server name/printer name and then configure SAP (SPAD) with required configuration.

Also when you configure the printer from SAP (SPAD) use (printer name which is configured at os level) as output device and Hostprinter.

Thanks,

Salim
