Good morning, and a Happy New Year to all.
Before Christmas I began installing the linux version of Crystal Server. After a few hurdles I managed to complete the install and the web front-end appeared: http://crystal-1:8080/CmcApp. It's a fresh install of CentOS 5.5 (i.e.: Red Hat) so opted to let the Crystal installer configure MySQL and Apache/Tomcat.
Unfortunately though, it will not accept the default blank password for 'administrator' or 'guest'.
I Googled resetting the password and landed here: which explains resetting it via MySQL. I'm vaguely familiar with MySQL but can't actually see a service running on my linux box:
[root@crystal-1 ~]# service mysqld status
mysqld: unrecognized service
Can someone please explain how I can test if the service is running? And/or why the default password is not being accepted?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
Nevermind. Decided to reformat the server and start again fresh.
Seemed to accept the password after this not at a loss as to why it wasn't being accepted the first time around.
