An error occurred while trying to start Isengard - Cannot start Wily IEM

Dear SAP,

I have installed Wily IEM 8.2.2.0 in my Solution Manager server (windows 2008).

I can start the service Introscope Enterprise Manager, but in the log, I get this error :

INFO | jvm 1 | 2011/01/04 10:25:31 | Introscope Enterprise Manager failed to start because:

INFO | jvm 1 | 2011/01/04 10:25:31 | An error occurred while trying to start Isengard.

INFO | jvm 1 | 2011/01/04 10:25:31 | Press 'Enter' to acknowledge....

1. I have assigned SIDuser to the service

2. I have also read and apply 1273028 OSS recommandations.

Dear Everyone,

I got the same error. Today, I checked the log and it said something about Display 0.0. I guess the EMCtrl only works on graphical environment and I think I'm right. I run ./EMCtrl.sh through xmanager and it started and still started.

Maybe SAP create the scenario incorrectly by assuming the wily introscope can only be started on graphical environment. This is not wily introscope mistake, because if I install the wily manually, I can start it from ssh.

I faced the same issue. Before to try several ways, the problem has been solved.

Try to used this command when start the EM:

     sudo ./EMCtrl.sh start

Wily Introscope does not start after switched to JVM 4.1 for Solution Manager 7.1;

I use Java 1.6 for Etreprise Manager Introscope.

But java 1.6 parameters cannot be setted with JVM 4.1 parameters for user SIDadm ?

How to switch my Introscope Java 1.6 to JVM 4.1 as my Solution Manager ???

Error releated to service. Check the user which you are using to start the service, it should be SIDadm with the needed control. please check

The service is started by user sidadm.

Should it be started by Administrator or SAPServiceSID ?

Hi

if you have specific user account for wily services, please use that or else use solution manager sid adm id. or you can create the services user account using sidadm account and try to start the willy services by that user.

Dear all,

There were a communication port issue.

The default communication port 8081 were occupied by another application.

I have set a new communication port and it works.

Dear John,

I have modified the following file : IntroscopeEnterpriseManager

Example :

M:\usr\sap\ccms\wilyintroscope\config\IntroscopeEnterpriseManager

This file is read when you start the Wily IEM.

I hve replaced this parameter :

introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port=8081

replaced by

introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port=8091
