Control Table clarification

Hello Experts,

I found some info able control tables here .

So, I just need to clarify that:

1. Control tables are customizing tables that is usually only accessed via SPRO and not directly as a table.

2. Control table is a general term for customizing tables. There are many different control tables as varied as there is customizing.

Yes - you are right

2. Control table is a general term for customizing tables. There are many different control tables as varied as there is customizing.

Control Tables -controls customising and links data which is stored in your master data and input provided manually while creating transcation.

For eg: VOV4 tcode provides a table for item category assignment or determination.This is nothing but rule provided by you as a adminstrator to determine the item category while processing it in the order.
