Hi all
I would like to connect to mainframe system. my scenarios are something like:
SAP ECC->(abap proxy) -> PI -> (??? adapter)->MainframeSystem.
MainframeSystem->(??? adapter) -> PI -> (abap proxy)->SAP ECC System.
I explored in SDN, there are threads mentioning Iway adapter can be used to connect to Mainframe system.
my query is:
1. Is Iway adapter is the only adapter that we must use.
or is there any alternate technical or 3rd party adapter that we can use to integrate with mainframe system.
2. some people mentioned use of JMS adapter, but can we use JMS adapter to connect to Mainframe system instead of IWay.
3. is it also possibe to use Seeburger adapter to connect to mainframe systems.
4. in what circumstances we can decide which kind of adapter can be used for mainframe integration.
thanks in advance.

Check which capabilities are offered by your mainframe system.
If it offers SOAP/Webservice, you need no special adapter. If it offers JMS, you need a JMS queuing system. If it does not offer any of this, you need IWay.

Stefan has answered the major point about the integration. Check your maiinframe server capabilities.
3. Seeburger does not provide any mainframe specific adapeter.
